Androscoggin Bank's MainStreet Foundation announced $9,020 worth of grants to four nonprofit organizations, bringing its total for the year to nearly $30,000.
The foundation awards impact grants of up to $5,000 that benefit programs that support at-risk children.
Third-quarter award winners are:
"Each of these organizations is making a difference in the lives of Maine families,” said Steve Closson, chairman of the foundation. “Their good work deserves both recognition and support, and it is an honor to support them through the MainStreet Foundation.”
MainStreet Foundation also accepts applications from May 1 through July 31 each year for its annual “$25K for Kids” grant, a special gift focused on a nonprofit organization that makes a positive impact in the lives of as many kids as possible. The fourth annual “$25K for Kids” grant was awarded to Preble Street Teen Center in Portland during the MainStreet Foundation Annual Meeting last November.
