Aroostook Internet expands coverage

Aroostook Internet in Presque Isle is expanding through the acquisition Fort Kent-based SJV Wireless' wireless and dial-up Internet business, according to the Bangor Daily News.

Dan Levesque, one of the owners of Aroostook Internet, would not reveal the cost of the acquisition, but told the paper it was a "significant investment." Aroostook Internet will now provide high-speed broadband to northern and central Maine and DSL Internet connection in Houlton, Presque Isle and Caribou, the paper reported.

Alan Susee, the president of SJV Wireless, said in a statement posted on the company's website that the company "will be moving on to explore new opportunities in the technology industry." The company will continue to operate in Fort Kent as ComputerOne with a focus on computer sales and service.
