Less than a year into the job, Aroostook Partnership’s president and CEO, Scott Dionne, is moving on to pursue a leadership role with a national building products distribution company.
Dionne moved back to his hometown of Caribou to take on the partnership’s leadership role after the March retirement of Paul Towle.
The new job will leverage Dionne’s nearly 30 years of construction experience and allow him to pursue his interest in product development and building science education, according to a news release. The hybrid nature of the position allows him to remain in Aroostook County and continue his volunteer efforts, including the support of Aroostook Partnership’s mission.
Dionne previously worked at TimberHP, the Madison-based manufacturer of wood-fiber insulation.
At Aroostook Partnership, he has been instrumental in refining operating and accounting processes; organizing action committees; building connections with area schools, municipalities and businesses; and creating a vision for and taking action to redevelop the Opportunities Aroostook digital platform, according to the release.
Aroostook Partnership is a nonprofit, private/public partnership dedicated to developing private sector leadership, talents, and resources that can ensure the economic survival and growth of Aroostook County. The organization is supported by over 20 private businesses.
Last year, in conjunction with Husson University’s College of Business’s Institute for Strategic Leadership and Workforce Development, the partnership brought together more than a dozen professionals from 10 Aroostook County businesses for a a professional development initiative called Leadership Aroostook.
The partnership has formed a search committee that is in the process of refining the president and CEO job description and said it plans to post the position soon.
