An unlikely duo is behind the newest Edible Arrangements franchise location in Maine, as the owners of the Bangor-based Half Acre Nightclub, brothers Matthew and Patrick Brann, have ventured into the world of fresh-cut fruit bouquets.
“It’s kind of night and day,” Matthew Brann told the Bangor Daily News about his newest business venture. “I was looking for an investment, and this sort of fell in my lap.”
Inspiration struck Matthew when he saw a friend place an order for one of the arrangements online and quickly began doing research into what would be involved in opening a franchise location.
Now eight months and one location later, the fresh fruit and nightclub entrepreneurs are planning on opening a second location in Augusta near the end of the year — the fourth Edible Arrangements location in the state.
In addition to selling the arrangements, which can range in price from $29 for a half-dozen chocolate covered fruits to $679 for the “Magnificently Radiant Double Decadence” bouquet, the Bangor location also sells to-go items including freshly made smoothies and yogurt.
