Bangor Savings Bank is adding to its New Hampshire footprint with its second full-service branch in Manchester, opening Monday, and another in Derry tentatively set to open in 2024.
The newest branch, located at 170 Baker St., is the bank’s second full-service branch in Manchester and eighth in the Granite State.
Bangor Savings also has one branch in Colebrook, two in Concord, one in Amherst and three in Portsmouth, just across the bridge from Kittery.
“As residents and business owners know so well, Manchester is a wonderfully vibrant and dynamic city,” said Bob Montgomery-Rice, the bank's president and CEO. "We’re proud to further serve the community with this second location and form new and meaningful relationships while becoming a partner in Manchester’s active downtown.”
The new branch is in a former automotive repair shop. Bangor Savings revamped the space by adding solar panels to power daily operations, a low ambient temperature heat pump unit and LED lighting throughout the building.
With more than $7 billion in assets as of June 30, 2022, Bangor Savings tops the list of the largest Maine-based banks in the recently published 2023 Mainebiz Book of Lists.
At the new branch in Manchester, Bangor Savings will offer a range of financial services, including personal and business banking, as well as a drive-up ATM and coin counter. The location, led by Branch Manager Heather Francoeur, is staffed with five branch employees and three commercial bankers.
“Our banking team is eager to expand even further to serve the Manchester community,” said Kimberly Pope, chief banking officer at Bangor Savings. “With the addition of this accessible banking location, customers will continue to receive knowledgeable and personal service with care that embodies our ‘You Matter More’ promise.”
The Manchester branch is the bank’s 67th.
Elsewhere in New Hampshire, Bangor Savings is tentatively planning to open a new, full-service branch in spring 2024 in Derry, according to spokeswoman Jaclyn Fish.
"As Bangor Savings Bank continues to grow and support the Northern New England communities in which we live and serve, plans for new bank locations within New Hampshire will continue to be evaluated based on future needs," Fish said in an emailed response to questions.
