Bank of Maine opens new branch

The Bank of Maine is scheduled to open its 33rd banking center in Falmouth on Wednesday, under the leadership of manager Jahnna Armitage.

The bank, with over $790 million in assets, announced the new location at The Shops at Falmouth Village in a press release issued Monday. In addition to its banking centers, The Bank of Maine has 43 ATM locations around the state.

Earlier this year, after federal regulators found regulatory violations, the bank signed an agreement with the Comptroller of the Currency to address problems that bank officials told the Morning Sentinel were "reflective of a period of time from a year ago, a snapshot of the bank a year ago."

Before coming to The Bank of Maine, Armitage was an Assistant Vice President at Bangor Savings Bank.
