Saco & Biddeford Savings Institution has welcomed a dedicated local volunteer who has contributed to many causes to the board of directors.
Jim Godbout owns and operates Provencher Oil and Jim Godbout Plumbing & Heating in Biddeford. He’s grown the business from when the company opened over 40 years ago and it now operates with more than 70 employees.
“Jim’s business acumen combined with a deep commitment to the community will make him a valued contributor as a member of our board of directors,” said CEO Bob Quentin.
Godbout has been active helping to provide opportunities for teens and young adults, especially in finding healthy alternatives to prevent drug abuse among younger people. He has worked with Habitat for Humanity and mentored students at the Regional Center of Technology, Biddeford High School and Thornton Academy. In addition, Godbout was part of the redevelopment of Biddeford’s Waterhouse Field.
“I am so happy to join the team at Saco & Biddeford Savings, which carries the shared values and commitment of caring for our surrounding communities that I have,” said Godbout. “I’m looking forward to working on the goals of a great mutual savings bank and strengthening all of the people of Maine.”
Saco & Biddeford Savings was ranked No. 13 among those with the largest market share in the 2023 Mainebiz Book of Lists, based on assets as of June 30, 2022.
Founded in 1827, the bank has branches in Saco, Biddeford, Old Orchard Beach, Portland, Scarborough, South Portland and Westbrook. It has 196 employees.
