Bigger crowds at Bangor festival

Attendance was up this year at the Bangor Folk Festival, based on surveys of parking lots and the number of people counted at different stages.

Last year, 165,000 visits were made to the three-day event, the Bangor Daily News reported. Exact numbers are hard to calculate because the festival is free and there are no turnstiles.

Cash donations, tossed by festival goers into buckets, looked to be about equal to last year -- around $92,000 by last count on Monday.
