Brewer medical marijuana dispensary opens
The last of the state's approved medical marijuana dispensaries has opened in Brewer. The dispensary is the fourth opened by Wellness Connection of Maine, formerly Northeast Patients Group.
The 3,200-square-foot dispensary at 221 Dirigo Drive opened May 10 with little fanfare, according to the Bangor Daily News. Wellness Connection also operates dispensaries in Hallowell, Portland and Thomaston. Executive Director Becky DeKeuster said the Brewer clinic has 30 patients.
The state's other four dispensaries are in Auburn, Biddeford, Ellsworth and Frenchville, all operated by different nonprofits.
