Buckfield lumber co. gets $1.6M in fed loan guarantees
R.E. Lowell Lumber Co., based in Buckfield, plans to expand its second location in Turner after receiving over $1.6 million in federal loan guarantees from the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
The Sun Journal reported the company plans to purchase buildings and land it is leasing at the former location of Moose Creek Log Homes in Turner and later will add retail services to the lumberyard it has on the property. Kevin Swan, a Lowell Lumber representative, told the paper the company also has plans for a full-service hardware store at the location in Turner.
