DeStefano & Associates Inc. has been awarded the construction of 10 luxury condominiums at 531 Westbrook Street in South Portland. This 10,000-square-foot project consists of two buildings, each containing five townhouse style units. Construction will begin this month. Portsmouth, N.H.-based DeStefano & Associates provides planning, design and construction services for new, expansion and renovation projects in Maine, New Hampshire and Massachusetts.

Speaking of Gawron Turgeon, it designed a 2,700-square-foot branch for Camden National Bank, at 435 Main St. in Damariscotta; a fitness center at OceanView at Falmouth; and, with Milwaukee-based Plunkett Raysich Architects, the small-house style memory care center for Maine Veterans’ Home in Augusta. The $91 million, 179,000-square-foot Veterans’ Home project is being co-managed by Pittsfield-based Cianbro and VJS Construction Services of Pewaukee, Wisc.

Cianbro, in turn, is also the project manager for the planned Canopy Portland Waterfront Hotel, which is being developed at the corner of Center and Commercial streets in Portland. The developer is Fathom Cos., led by developer Jim Brady. Workers from H.B. Fleming Inc. of South Portland are busy with the site work.
