Bull Moose recently expanded the footprint of its Old Port store and plans to open a new location in Keene, N.H., its third store outside of Maine.
The music, movie, video game and book retailer said last week that the 7,000-square-foot Keene store is expected to open in mid-November at 401B West St.
“We’ve been looking to open a store in Keene for about a decade, so when the right location became available, we jumped at the chance,” Brett Wickard, Bull Moose’s founder and president, said in a statement. “We’re super excited to get to know all the music, movie, book and video game fans here — and to join the Keene area’s arts community.”
Like five of its Maine stores and its Salem, N.H., store, the Keene location will sell books as well as movies, music, video games and other products. The store will employ up to 10 workers, with as many as six full time, the company said.
Bull Moose, which has more than 150 employees, was founded by Wickard in 1989 in Brunswick when he was a junior at Bowdoin College.
The independently owned and operated retailer has stores in Bangor, Brunswick, Lewiston, North Windham, Portland, Sanford, Scarborough, South Portland and Waterville, and in Portsmouth and Salem, N.H. It recently expanded its Portland store, knocking down walls and taking over an office space nearby.
