Call center to hire 90 in Fort Kent

The Ohio-based Ameridial plans to open a call center in Fort Kent, where the company says it will hire 90 full-time workers.

The Bangor Daily News reported the company will begin operating Oct. 1 from a former MBNA Corp. building that previously housed a call center run by Synergy Solutions. Ameridial provides voice and data support services for clients in various industries, including health care, education, financial services and consumer products.

The company has signed a three-year lease with the Northern Maine Finance Corp. and has started to train its first 45 employees. In two weeks, the company plans to train another 45 workers for its Oct. 1 launch.

Ameridial also operates call centers in North Carolina and Ohio.

Michael McCarthy, Ameridial’s vice president for health care services, was previously a manager for Synergy Solutions' Fort Kent office, which closed in 2010.
