Camden National Corp. names new CEO

Camden National Corporation yesterday named Gregory Dufour as its new president and CEO, replacing Robert Daigle, who will step down at the end of this year.

Dufour currently is president and CEO of Camden National Bank, one of the corporation's subsidiaries. He'll take over from Daigle as CEO of Camden National Corp. on January 1, 2009, while remaining president and CEO of the bank, the company said in a press release. Daigle is stepping down after 13 years as head of Camden National Corp.

Camden National Corp. also said earnings for the first quarter of 2008 rose to $6.2 million, up from $4.8 million a year ago. Total assets have risen to $2.3 billion from $1.8 billion last year, the company said.
