Cianbro gets PTZ status for Brewer project

The state Department of Economic and Community Development has granted Pine Tree Zone status to Cianbro Constructors LLC, the Cianbro subsidiary redeveloping the former Eastern Fine Paper mill in Brewer.

Cianbro said in early June it would use the mill to construct large, pre-fabricated building structures and ship them by barge to industrial clients across North America. The project will initially create 200 full-time jobs with the average annual wage of $48,000, according to a press release from the DECD.

The Pine Tree Zone program is a performance-based tax incentive initiative that businesses qualify for with promises of job creation and future performance.
