Cole Haan leaving Maine, consolidating in N.H.

Shoemaker Cole Haan plans to move its Scarborough headquarters to Greenland, N.H., consolidating the company’s eastern operations.

The Bangor Daily News reported Kimry Blackwelder, Cole Haan’s director of public relations, confirmed the move but did not reveal details about when it would take place or how many employees would be affected.

The private equity firm Apax Partners acquired Cole Haan late last year from Nike for $570 million.

A Nike spokesperson told the paper in November that the company employed 140 in Scarborough, where it moved in 2011 after being headquartered in Yarmouth for decades.
