Meanwhile, Chellie Pingree raised more than her challenger in the 1st Congressional District race.

According to the Portland Press Herald, Independent King raised nearly $471,000 between May 24 and June 30, while Republican and Maine Secretary of State Charlie Summers raised about $204,000, and Maine Sen. Cynthia Dill, D-Cape Elizabeth, raised a little more than $91,000.

In the 2nd district race, Senate President Raye, a Republican, raised more than $165,000, besting Democrat Michaud's $109,000, according to the Maine Public Broadcasting Network. However, Michaud still has a total of nearly $635,000 compared with Raye's total of $242,000.
