Fundraising reports for Maine's congressional campaigns show U.S. Senate candidate Angus King raised the most in the second quarter, while Kevin Raye topped incumbent Mike Michaud for money raised in the 2nd Congressional District race. Meanwhile, Chellie Pingree raised more than her challenger in the 1st Congressional District race.
According to the Portland Press Herald, Independent King raised nearly $471,000 between May 24 and June 30, while Republican and Maine Secretary of State Charlie Summers raised about $204,000, and Maine Sen. Cynthia Dill, D-Cape Elizabeth, raised a little more than $91,000.
In the 2nd district race, Senate President Raye, a Republican, raised more than $165,000, besting Democrat Michaud's $109,000, according to the Maine Public Broadcasting Network. However, Michaud still has a total of nearly $635,000 compared with Raye's total of $242,000.
In the 1st district race, incumbent and Democrat Pingree brought in $165,000, while her Republican rival, Jon Courtney, raised $15,678. Pingree now has more than $349,000, while Courtney has a little more than $19,000.
