Consulting firm expands in Gardiner

Black Diamond Consultants, a Gardiner-based technical consulting company, is expanding its offices in the city's Libby Hill Business Park.

The company -- which offers consulting services to the securities, telecommunications and nuclear power industries -- plans to move from its current offices on Water Street and build a new office in the business park, according to a press release from the city. Black Diamond has 18 employees in Gardiner and 27 in other locations in the country, and has outgrown its current office space. The company was founded in 2000 in Gardiner with the assistance of the city's revolving loan fund program.

Established in 2000 as well, the Libby Hill Business Park has 16 pre-permitted lots totaling 140 acres, only two of which remain available. The city of Gardiner is planning to add 12 lots as part of Phase II of the park's construction. Currently, other tenants include Northeast Radiant Technologies, Pine State Trading and EJ Prescott.
