County man creates jobs database for veterans
An Aroostook County man has launched a new website he hopes will connect veterans with open jobs.
The Bangor Daily News reported that Maine Army Guard veteran John Birmingham has launched the site Warriors in the Workplace.
Birmingham told the paper that he has launched the website in anticipation of nearly 1 million service members who are expected to leave the military between 2011 and 2016.
So far, Birmingham told the paper that he's not had any job listings on the site from Maine companies but he hopes to get them involved.
