Plans are in the works to open a new microbrewery, called Footbridge Brewery, in Boothbay Harbor.
The Boothbay Register reported that business partners Nick Ullo and Dan Pangburn are developing new recipes, using Maine-sourced ingredients like blueberries and jalapenos, for test trials. They began refining recipes together three years ago and last year began working toward opening a brewery to bring more craft beer to the Boothbay region. They plan to produce a couple of hard ciders, too. The partners plan to locate the brewery close to the entrance of the town’s footbridge, one of the best-known landmarks in the harbor.
“It ties us locally to Boothbay Harbor, and hopefully we’ll be able to attract even more beer drinkers down to the Boothbay peninsula, by having two craft breweries here,” Ullo told the paper.
