Dead River Co., the largest heating fuel supplier in northern New England, has hired Jodie Griffith as its next human resources manager.
Griffith brings over 20 years of experience to the company. In her new role, she will focus on employee relations, performance management, compensation, training and the employee experience.
“Jodie is a well-respected professional within the HR community,” said Guy Langevin, Dead River Co. executive vice president and chief administrative officer. “We are excited to have her and the expertise she brings onboard.”
Most recently, Griffith was the managing director for Manpower’s locations in Portland, Biddeford and Springvale. During her time there, she managed and directed recruitment and the day-to-day operational activities of the three staffing offices.
She has also worked for two years as an HR business partner for Northern Light Mercy Hospital in Portland, and for eight years in a similar role at InterMed.
Griffith also serves as the membership director for the Society for Human Resources Management, Maine State Council, and was awarded its HR Volunteer Leader of the Year Award in 2017.
She received her bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of Maine.
Dead River Co., founded in 1909, provides heating oil and propane to customers in Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont and western Massachusetts. The company is based in South Portland.
