Delta expands service at BIA

Delta Airlines is adding two additional daily flights from Bangor International Airport to Boston starting November 4, the company announced in a press release.

The flights will be on Delta Connection carrier Big Sky Airlines, which operates 19-seat turbo-prop flights out of BIA, which grew 8.8% in September over the same month last year. Currently Delta runs four daily flights between Boston and Bangor.

Delta's expansion comes as American Eagle, a subsidiary of American Airlines, plans to stop flying out of Bangor Nov. 5. Airport officials will meet with United Airlines later this month to discuss the possibility of that carrier flying to BIA, according to television news channel WCSH6.
