Andrew Clearwater has joined Dentons Bingham Greenebaum as a Portland-based partner.
As a member of the firm's privacy and cybersecurity team, Clearwater will advise clients on leveraging global standards to streamline compliance while addressing complex AI, data privacy and cybersecurity challenges.
"We continue to add top talent like Andrew, who can help our clients with compliance in a complex framework of laws and regulations," said Keith Bice, Indianapolis-based managing partner at Dentons, which has offices around the world. "Data privacy, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence are top of mind for businesses, so Andrew will be a great asset for our clients."
Prior to joining Dentons, Clearwater was the chief trust architect for privacy and security software provider OneTrust. In this role, he oversaw privacy and AI governance, contributed to developing industry-leading data protection best practices and is an inventor on over 20 of the company’s patents.
Clearwater received bachelor's and juris doctor degrees from the University of Maine and Maine Law, respectively, and a master's in law from Suffolk University Law School.
“Andrew has the global experience our clients need as they seek to comply with data privacy, cybersecurity and AI regulations in the US and across the globe," said Antonis Patrikios, co-chair of Dentons’ global privacy and cybersecurity group and global technology, media and telecommunications sector lead.
Dentons ranks No. 20 among the state’s largest law firms in the 2025 Mainebiz Book of Lists, based on Maine-based attorneys. The firm has 10 Maine attorneys.
