Diversified Communications has acquired a Pleasanton, Calif.-based company that provides professional training and development for accountants at small businesses.
The Portland-based company announced its acquisition of The Sleeter Group on Tuesday, building upon services it already provides to financial operations professionals at larger companies through Diversified’s Institute of Finance & Management.
“While IOFM serves professionals inside larger companies, The Sleeter Group’s audience is made up of accountants and consultants who serve small businesses,” RD Whitney, group vice president of Diversified Communications, said in a prepared statement. “We are impressed with the quality of the products in the portfolio and how they serve their customers, and we feel that this business will be an excellent complement to our IOFM group.”
The Sleeter Group’s founder, Doug Sleeter, will stay with the company, and his employees continue to work from the company’s Pleasanton office. The company has 800 members who provide bookkeeping and consulting services to more than 300,000 small- to medium-sized businesses.
“I could not imagine a better match for us than Diversified,” Sleeter said in a prepared statement. “They are just as passionate as we are about serving our market and they are perfectly positioned to build on what we’ve developed. They bring vast resources, incredible management and deep experience that will help us realize our dreams for serving a growing market.”
