In advance of public disclosures, Democratic gubernatorial candidate Mike Michaud and U.S. Senate candidate Shenna Bellows have released their latest fundraising totals.
Michaud announced Monday that he’s collected $1 million in donations, with $700,000 raised during the last six months of 2013. The Portland Press Herald reported a spokesman for incumbent Republican Gov. Paul LePage’s campaign did not indicate when it would release its latest finance report. A spokeswoman for Independent Eliot Cutler’s campaign told the newspaper it would release its report at a Jan. 15 filing deadline.
LePage had reported raising nearly $340,000 and Cutler had raised $430,000 through June.
In the U.S. Senate race, Democrat Bellows announced raising more than $332,000 since announcing her candidacy in early October. The Press Herald reported Republican incumbent U.S. Sen. Susan Collins’ campaign has not published fundraising totals for its most recent period, but expects to have around $3 million on hand when it files with the Federal Election Commission.
