TideSmart Global, a Falmouth marketing agency, is consolidating its businesses under a common brand and plans to open its first branch office, in suburban New York City.
The firm is launching a brick-and-mortar base in Darien, Conn., a news release said, to be headed by Jeff Fortmann, who joined TideSmart in March as executive vice president and general manager.
Fortmann previously served as associate publisher and business director for two trade magazines, Event Marketer and Event Design, and managed the world’s largest portfolio of marketing content, conferences, recognition programs and corporate training programs, according to TideSmart.
Fortmann will also lead TideSmart's experiential offerings division, TideSmart Experiential, focusing on events and stakeholder interactions designed to increase awareness and sales.
The division is one of three recently created to oversee TideSmart’s various services. In addition to TideSmart Experiential, formerly EMG3, the firm will operate TideSmart Health, formerly Promerica Health, and TideSmart Insights, formerly Confidential Consumer.
"As client needs and activations have become increasingly complex, it has become clear that we need to make those interactions a more seamless part of the services we offer without the need to contract multiple agencies," TideSmart Global President and CEO Steve Woods said in a separate news release.
TideSmart has operated as many as six subsidiary agencies since opening in Portland in 2003. In 2010, the company built a $10 million, 72,000-square-foot eco-friendly campus in Falmouth. At the time, Woods said he expected annual sales to reach $200 million in four years.
