Miale is a managing director at Caswell Advisory Group, a sell-side mergers and acquisitions firm representing business owners throughout New England.

Prior to her role at the Caswell Advisory Group, Miale served as president of Good Shepherd Food Bank of Maine for 11 years. As president, she led the statewide organization through several transformational growth periods. She co-founded Harvesting Good, a for-profit vegetable processing company that is a wholly owned subsidiary of Good Shepherd. In 2020, Miale was named a Mainebiz Business Leader of the Year

Before her time at Good Shepherd, she worked for more than a decade in finance. She also serves on the boards of Harvesting Good and Daily Table, a nonprofit chain of five grocery stores in the Boston area. Miale received her undergraduate degree in computer science from Boston College and a master’s in business administration from Boston University.

As the state economist for Maine, Rector conducts ongoing analyses of the state’s economic and demographic conditions to help inform policy decisions. She joined the Maine state government in 2004 and has served as state economist since 2011.
