Former Town & Country exec named CFO at Mass. credit union

Bob Leger, formerly the CFO of Town & Country Federal Credit Union, now hold the CFO position at Workers Credit Union in Littleton, Mass.
Workers Credit Union in Littleton, Mass., has named Bob Leger, formerly chief financial officer of Town & Country Federal Credit Union in Maine, as CFO and treasurer. Leger held the role in interim before his appointment.
Leger was previously senior vice president of treasury, asset and liability management and investments at WCU, a position he started in August 2022, according to his LinkedIn profile. He began the interim CFO role in June 2023.
In the CFO and treasurer position, Leger will be responsible for Workers Credit Union's investments, accounting and financials, according to a Wednesday press release from the credit union.
“Bob has the experience, integrity and vision to lead as the credit union’s new CFO and treasurer,” Jay Champion, WCU interim president and CEO, said in the press release. “He is an excellent financial steward and a proven leader who cares deeply about our members, the credit union and the overall financial health of our communities. We rely on his expertise as we look to serve more individuals and businesses across our region.”
Tim Smith was previously CFO at the Workers Credit Union.
"Workers Credit Union is grateful for Tim Smith’s contributions, including doubling the credit union’s assets to nearly $2.6 billion since 2014," WCU said in a statement to the Worcester Business Journal, an affiliate of Mainebiz.
Prior to his role at Town & Country, Leger was controller at South Portland-based Aroma Joe’s Coffee.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Bentley University in Waltham, Mass.
