Former Uber and Amazon sales exec to lead Wayfair in Bangor

Wayfair Inc., the Boston-based online home furnishings retailer that plans to bring nearly 1,000 jobs to Maine in the coming months, has enlisted former Uber and Amazon sales director Peter Boudreaux to lead its Bangor customer service facility.

The company, which plans to open the Bangor call center in July, will open its planned Brunswick location this month. Wayfair plans to hire 950 people between the two sites.

“Pete’s extensive experience developing sales and service operations for leading technology companies across the country will be a valued addition as we launch our Bangor facility,” said Liz Graham, vice president of sales and service at Wayfair, in a prepared statement. “We are thrilled to welcome Pete to our global customer service team, and look forward to his leadership and expertise.”

In addition to leading the North American Operations team for Uber and a five-year plus stint at Amazon, Boudreaux held several customer service leadership roles at eBay, where he worked for over a decade.

“Wayfair’s steadfast commitment to exceptional service has given them a global reputation as a leader in sales and service,” Boudreaux said in a statement. “I look forward to delivering a world-class retail experience as we launch our operations in Bangor and welcome new talent to our skilled customer service team.”
