A former part-owner of Wayfarer Marine, Chandler "Sandy" McGaw, was killed in a motorcycle-car accident in Collier County, Fla., on Jan. 17, the PenBay Pilot reported.
McGaw was Wayfarer's general manager and a third shareholder in the private company until 2008, when it was sold in total to former MBNA executive Shane Flynn.
According to a press release from Lyman-Morse, McGaw remained with Wayfarer as general manager before retiring in 2011 to pursue other interests. When Lyman-Morse acquired Wayfarer Marine in July 2015, McGaw rejoined the staff.
“Sandy always had his customers' best interests at heart and his fellow employees loved to hear him laugh,” the release says. “There was nothing that Sandy wouldn't do when asked for help with a customer's boat or when asked for help from any of our talented technicians. His unselfishness knew no bounds — even going as far as donating one of his kidneys to save a friend's life.”
