From collaborators to partners: Windham IT consultant will merge with Massachusetts firm

A Windham information technology firm has merged with a Massachusetts firm that it has collaborated with in the past.

SystemArchitecture.NET, which has offices in Sebago Commons in Windham and in Sierra Vista, Ariz., merged with Jogan InfoTech of Peabody, Mass.

The companies discovered they had synergies and similar resources, said John Cadogan, who founded Jogan InfoTech in 2015. “That was the main inspiration for the merger,” he said.

The deal, terms of which were not disclosed, became effective Nov. 1.

“The merger represents a mutually beneficial arrangement, offering customers access to an expanded and diversified team,” said Vincent Micale, the company’s president. “Existing Jogan InfoTech clients will gain access to a New England-based help desk and network operation center, while SystemArchitecture.NET will be able to maintain its commitment to delivering its renowned services and pursue further expansion.”

The merger gives SystemArchitecture an expanded regional presence.

SystemArchitecture, which was founded 25 years ago, has grown slowly over the years. The latest merger brings its workforce to 12 employees, including those at the Arizona location, which also resulted from a merger, said Micale.

It’s likely that the Massachusetts office will be maintained, said Cadogan.

The merger came down to having an opportunity to combine teams and leverage the strengths of both, he said. SystemArchitecture built its model over the years with the intention to expand, he added.

Existing Jogan InfoTech clients will gain access to a New England-based help desk and network operation center.

Cadogan is now a member of SystemArchitecture’s executive team and will head up some new initiatives to be announced, said Micale.

“We’re looking at a couple of areas with significant growth potential," including artificial intelligence, Micale said.

The customer base is diverse. The focus is on small and medium size businesses, with some larger enterprise-level customers and some international companies, said Micale.

With the merger, customers now include about 25 in southern New England.

“Our ability to scale up is proving to be viable,” said Micale.

Micale said that, as a smaller firm in the industry, it has the ability to provide solutions tailored to customers needs, versus one-size-fits-all.

“That level of flexibility had contributed to our success over the years,” he said.
