GD's Saco facility keeping busy

General Dynamics has received a $16 million contract extension from the U.S. Navy for further production of M61A2 20mm automatic Gatling gun systems to be used on F/A-18 fighter jets, according to a press release from the company.

The company's Saco manufacturing facility will perform the work, which is scheduled to be completed in 2011. Falls Church, Va.-based General Dynamics received the first $10 million contract for the Gatling gun systems in 2005, with a $12.5 million contract extension in 2006.
