German co. buys Auburn manufacturer

Bachmann Industries, an Auburn manufacturer of industrial bypass and exhaust systems, has been acquired by a German company, Clyde Bergemann Power Group.
The acquisition, announced today, allows Clyde Bergemann Power Group to expand its market into gas-fired power plants, an area of expertise developed by Bachmann since 2002. It also extends the company's portfolio of products and its U.S. footprint, according to a company release. The Lewiston Junction Road manufacturer will now be known as Clyde Bergmann Bachmann and will continue to be run by President Fred Koch.
The local company employs 60 people.
