Giri Hotels buys Waterville property

Freeport-based Giri Hotels has added the Holiday Inn in Waterville to its list of properties in Maine.
Giri Hotels bought the 138-room hotel for an undisclosed amount and has renamed it the Waterville Grand Hotel, according to the Morning Sentinel. Giri owns the Holiday Inn and Comfort Inn in Augusta and the Econolodge in Freeport as well as other hotels in New England. The company is planning to renovate the hotel's rooms, public areas and exterior over the next three to six months, General Manager Brian LeClair told the paper.
All of the hotel's 58 full- and part-time employees will remain on staff.
