Goodall Hospital CEO Darlene Stromstad is leaving to take a job in Connecticut.
Waterbury Hospital, which has 367 beds, has named Stromstad as its president and CEO, effective early July, according to a press release. Stromstad led the 58-bed Goodall Hospital in Sanford for six years, during which time its annual net revenue grew from $55 million to almost $90 million, she told Foster's Daily Democrat. The hospital has also opened health centers in Kennebunk and Waterboro, and is again exploring a merger with Portland-based MaineHealth, after complicated federal regulations led the two organizations to scrap merger plans in 2009.
Stromstad is a board member of the Sanford-Springvale Chamber of Commerce and the Maine Hospital Association. Before becoming Goodall's CEO in 2005, Stromstad was senior vice president at Catholic Medical Center in Manchester, N.H., a 320-bed community and tertiary heart hospital.
