Gorham co. recalls fireplace products
A Gorham-based company has recalled four models of gas fireplace inserts in response to a possible wiring defect that could cause electrical shock and burn hazards.
Jotul North America, the U.S.-based importer for the Norwegian company Jotul AS, announced the voluntary recall of around 1,200 units in the United States. and 50 in Canada, according to the Bangor Daily News.
The recalled units — models Jotul GI 450 DVII, Jotul GI 450 DV TSI, Scan 45i, and Scan 45i TSI — were sold in the U.S. and Canada between June 2010 and September 2012.
The company's Gorham facility employs 77 workers, the paper reported.
