Consigli Construction, Wings for Children and Families and Acadia Benefits ranked as the top companies in the large, medium and small categories of the "Best Places to Work in Maine" rankings.
The “Best Places to Work in Maine” program, in its 18th year in Maine, saw 134 organizations named to the list, the most companies ever recognized with the distinction.
Maine State Council of the Society for Human Resources Management, in partnership with Best Companies Group and Bridgetower Media, recognized the companies at an awards and recognition dinner Wednesday night at the Augusta Civic Center, with more than 600 people attending.
Consigli, with a Portland office, took top honors among large companies (with 250 or more employees) for the second straight year.
Wings for Families and Children, a Bangor mental health nonprofit, was the top employer in the medium category (50 to 249 employees), moving up from No. 14 a year ago.
Acadia Benefits in Portland took the top spot among small employers (15 to 49 employees) for the second consecutive year.
The “Best Places to Work in Maine” program recognizes companies that have established and consistently fostered outstanding workplace environments.
The assessment process, administered by Best Companies Group, evaluated each company’s employee policies and procedures as well as survey responses from the companies’ employees. In August, the Maine Society of Human Resources Management released a list of the 134 companies that made the cut as an overall Best Place to Work.
