Home sales, prices up in May

Home sales rose more than 30% last month, and the median sales price also increased by more than 7%, according to the Maine Real Estate Information System Inc.

A total of 1,035 existing single-family homes were sold in May in Maine, a 32% increase over the same month last year. The median sales price rose 7.4% to $178,000.
