Hospital plans Brunswick clinic

Mid Coast Hospital has announced plans to open a $5 million walk-in clinic, the area's first, at the new Maine Street Station downtown development in Brunswick.

The 10,000-square-foot clinic will be the anchor tenant of a yet-to-be-constructed 20,000-square-foot office building planned for the development and will offer walk-in and adult primary care, according to a press release from the hospital. The hospital's existing primary care office will move from another location near the hospital into the new facility. Construction of the building is expected to begin this fall and be completed by spring 2011.

The $24 million Maine Street Station development already includes restaurants, retail shops, a visitor's center and a train station that will service the Amtrak Downeaster extension from Portland to Brunswick.
