A hotel that has been a mainstay of downtown Rockland since 1965 will be featured on an upcoming episode of the popular cable reality show “Hotel Impossible.”
The 138-room Trade Winds Motor Inn will appear on the Travel Channel show, which features a team of designers lead by New York hotelier and “hotel fixer” Anthony Melchiorri as they attempt to breathe life into struggling hotels and “revamp and transform struggling hotels into successful tourist accommodations,” according to the show’s website.
The inn, which was originally constructed by Robert Liberty and an unnamed business partner, according to the Bangor Daily News, has undergone numerous expansions throughout the decades and is currently owned by Liberty’s children.
The air date of the Trade Winds episode of “Hotel Impossible” hasn’t been announced.
This is the second time Melchiorri and his team has trekked into Maine for their “impossible” missions. According to the BDN, Last July the Charles Inn in Bangor was featured on the show.
