Baker Newman Noyes, a nationally recognized top 100 accounting and advisory firm, has hired a new chief people officer who brings more than 20 years of experience to the firm.
John Hurley came to Baker Newman Noyes from a Boston-area educational software company, where he was was the senior director of human resources and employee relations.
Hurley is based in the firm's Portland office and oversees the People Team, which includes recruiting, talent development and general HR operations. He is also a member of the management committee.

Over his career as an HR leader, Hurley developed talent strategies, established strategies to ensure employees were highly engaged, and implemented standards of fairness, empowerment, meritocracy and accountability.
