Synernet in Portland, a provider of support services to the health care industry, recently announced the return of $4.1 million in premium payments to the 16 member hospitals of the Synernet Workers’ Compensation Fund, according to a press release from the organization. The return was made possible by a reduction in workers’ compensation claim costs.
The program’s success is based on worker safety training, preventing injury, reducing the prevalence of injuries, and a focus on the safe and early return to work of employees who are injured on the job.
Since the program began, more than $24 million has been returned on total collected premiums of over $69 million, or roughly 35%.
