Kennebec River rafting operation acquired

New England Outdoor Center in Millinocket has sold its rafting operations on the Kennebec River.

West Forks-based Magic Rivers Rafting Co. purchased NEOC's rafts, gear and river allocations on the Kennebec on June 1, according to the Associated Press. NEOC unloaded the operation so it could focus its rafting operations on the Penobscot River in the Katahdin region. Magic Rivers already offers rafting on the Kennebec.

Magic Falls Rafting was established in 1989, and NEOC in 1982, according to the AP.
