KVCC gets $2.5M grant for ag program

Kennebec Valley Community College won a $2.5 million federal grant to develop degree programs in agricultural business and sustainable agriculture.

The Bangor Daily News reported the community college has four distinct degree programs planned for its new Harold Alfond Campus in Hinckley, two of which will begin this August.

Those first two-year associate degree programs will be in sustainable agriculture and culinary arts, the paper reported.

The programs, which the college is calling the KVCC Agriculture Cluster, will include food technology and quality control technician degrees to start in the fall of 2014.
