Landlord suing Zumba prostitution suspects

A man and woman suspected of running a prostitution operation out of a Kennebunk Zumba dance studio are now targets of a lawsuit filed by the building's owner to recover unpaid rent.

The Journal Tribune reported that Bee Nguyen, manager of T&B Inc., which owns the property at 8 York St., has filed a complaint in York County Superior Court against Mark Strong, 57, and Alexis Wright, 29, who co-signed a lease on the property in March 2010. The complaint states that T&B ended Wright and Strong's five-year lease on the property on July 26, 2012, after the renters allegedly fell behind on payments.

T&B's lawsuit seeks to recover the full rent that the Pura Vida Studio would have paid for its five-year lease, including property tax payments. In the complaint, Nguyen also hopes to recover legal fees associated with the lawsuit, for a total of $67,800 in damages.

Wright currently faces 106 charges including prostitution, invasion of privacy and tax-related charges; Strong faces 59 charges, including promotion of prostitution and invasion of privacy.
