LePage 'sworn to secrecy' about company cutting 900 jobs

Maine Governor Paul LePage announced at a town hall meeting in Orono that an unnamed southern Maine company will be cutting 900 jobs.
On Wednesday, Gov. Paul LePage told a group gathered at a town hall meeting in Orono that an unnamed southern Maine company will be shedding 900 jobs.
“There’s a big company that hasn’t come out yet. I happen to know about it and I’m sworn to secrecy until they make a public announcement, but we’re talking 900 jobs,” LePage said at the town hall meeting, according to the Maine Public Broadcasting Network. “In the most prosperous part of the state: down south.”
LePage cited high energy costs behind the reasoning for the yet-to-be-named company to shed the jobs — saying that the company is competing against low nuclear power costs in China.
The governor added that until Maine does more to cut taxes and adopt a more business-friendly environment, manufacturing companies have no choice but to go where they are appreciated.
