L.L.Bean opens 20th out-of-state store

L.L.Bean is opening its first store in Vermont, making it the company's 20th out-of-state location.

The Associated Press reported the 18,000-square-foot store is expected to open in late October in the Burlington Town Center. The store will employ approximately 100 people.

Strong catalog and web sales in the area, along with Burlington's proximity to natural resources and outdoor activities, led the Freeport-based retailer to expand into Vermont, the company said.
