L.L.Bean to give $1.5M to nonprofits
L.L.Bean is set to distribute $1.5 million in grants to 200 nonprofits before the end of its fiscal year in February.
This year, the company reports that donation recipients will include the Appalachian Mountain Club, the American Canoe Association, Nature Conservancy, Maine Audubon, Maine Island Trails Association, and sporting groups like Trout Unlimited and the Sportsman's Alliance of Maine.
In a press release, the Freeport-based company reported it will continue to fund the Island Explorer bus system in Acadia National Park.
The company reported it is also making donations to organizations including the United Way, Jobs for Maine's Graduates and arts groups in the state.
