Loans scarce, biz owners say

About a dozen business owners met yesterday with a legislative committee to express their difficulties at finding financing in the current financial market.
Business owners and financial institution leaders attended a hearing by the Joint Standing Committee on Business, Research and Economic Development to discuss Maine's economy, according to WCSH 6. Though representatives from the Maine Banker's Association said banks are sound and willing to lend, business owners said they are having trouble securing loans to grow.
Comments from the public hearing will be passed on to the new Legislature, according to the news channel.
