Maine Angels hit record investment levels
The Maine Angels venture capital group reported a record level of investment in 2012, topping $3.3 million.
In a blog post at Angel Investing News, the 51-member group announced that 28 of its members invested in 2012, for a total of $3,345,000.
Of that, $1.2 million was in follow-up investments in seven companies already in the group's portfolio. A total of $2,145,000 went to 13 new investments that included Northern Equity Investments, Pika Energy, Abierto and Zylo Media.
The year-end figure brings the group's total to $9,585,800 in investments through 66 deals in 42 companies since it was founded in 2003.
